The exhibition

Five centuries, finally in this light.

Queer Belgian Art 1400-1950 is the first exhibition to look at five centuries of art from our regions through an LGBTQ+ lens. Work that was always on the walls, but seldom told this way.

The MSK brings together paintings, drawings and objects showing how desire, friendship and identity found their place in art across the centuries - sometimes openly, more often hidden in a glance, a gesture or a commission.

STR8FW supports the exhibition

€2.500

At the charity BBQ of 6 September 2026 we handed the cheque to the museum. The proceeds of that day go towards this project.

We are going together

The exhibition runs in spring 2027. Somewhere in that period we will go as a group - with a guided tour, and a drink nearby afterwards.

The exact day depends on the calendar of the museum. Let us know beside this that you want to join, and we will tell you as soon as it is set.

Keep the date free

I am coming.

Nothing is final - you are not committing to anything. We simply keep track of who is interested, so we know roughly how many we are when we set the date.

We use your details only for this visit and - if you tick the box - for our news about STR8FW. More in our privacy policy.

Rather just email?

That works too. Send a note to info@str8fw.be with your name and how many you are, and we will add you to the list.

This exhibition is one of three projects supported by the proceeds of the 2026 charity BBQ. The other two are on the BBQ retrospective.
